The Annual Golf Day organised by Wayne Hadley, founder and manager of Hartshill Football Club was again a huge success and a big thank you to all those that attended.

In a break from the rain the day was bright and sunny and all 13 four balls had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Teeing off around 9.45 all first tee shots were videoed by Teddy Edwards and what a film that makes, excellent viewing if anyone wants to borrow a copy or we can show it on the big screen one night when we are all in !! Makes halarious viewing especially Ted the actual film maker throwing his club further down the first tee than his ball went !!

The day started with coffee at the Oak then onto the coach which took us to Stonebridge Golf Course, not Stoneleigh as 2 people thought !!

We then all tee’d off and played the 18 holes on a good dry course which saw some excellent play and even produced a hole in one by Matt Stanley on the back nine, which was witnesses by course officials and the other 3 in his four ball, Eggy, Ricky and Roger to their amazement.

The day also produced some other suprises, none more so that Danny Mulligan’s team all playing their tee shot in the buff then playing the rest of the hole topless, to the annoyance of the members coming down the next hole !

After the Golf came the presentations and meal, which saw Wayne Downing’s team win the entire day, seen here collecting their trophies from Wayne Hadley on the right and Mr Richard Woods on the left.

Bandit of the day was awarded to Matty Stanley who played well on the day, scoring a hole in one, despite his 28 handicap !!!!! He was made to suffer by wearing the toilet ‘el bandito’ seat all night on the coach, at the stop off pub and back at the Oak.

Thanks to all the sponsors that gave prizes and sponsored holes, to many to mention here, but as you can see the table was groaning with prizes to be picked up.

Again thanks to all those that supported the day and we hope you had a great day. People travelled from far and wide and special mention to Keith and Dougie who travelled down from Scotland to be with us on the day……seen below with Wayne (right) and Wayne’s dad Nigel on the left.

Not forgetting Gorden (second from the left) who also traveled from the South Sheilds region to be with us for the day - well actually all week, cause he stopped with Rita, board free all week !!!!

Here are some of the photo’s from the rest of the day, look out for next years event and Marie is running a book for anyone wanting to pay in a couple of pounds a weekdue to the credit crunch for next years tickets.

Contact Wayne Hadley or the Royal Oak for more details.
